Are our children's classrooms too small? Do our seniors have too much care?

Apr 18, 2011

"Tax day today: Tax code compliance key," Sarah Wilhelm, Opinion, Montana Standard, April 18, 2011.

As we approach the tax-filing deadline this Monday, I challenge you to think about all the ways public services have shaped your life for the better. And when you hear politicians and noisy protesters try to convince you that government is too big and taxes are too high, ask yourself:

Are our children's classrooms too small?

Do our seniors have too much dignity and care?

Are the rivers too clean?

Is tuition at UM and MSU too affordable?

Do too many Montanans have access to quality health care?

Take pride in your contribution to society. You are doing your part to promote the prosperity of your nation, your state, and your community. Your children and grandchildren will thank you.
