Ensuring Montana citizens have affordable, accessible health care is critical to our state’s economy. When individuals, especially those with low incomes, can get the health care they need, they can afford food and other basic necessities, build job skills and find work, and live a better quality of life. In 2015, Montana expanded Medicaid, providing more than 80,000 Montanans with access to affordable health care coverage. We continue to analyze state and federal health care proposals in addition to researching spending and related policies, highlighting areas where greater public investment is critical.
MBPC is a nonprofit organization focused on providing credible and timely research and analysis on budget, tax, and economic issues that impact low- and moderate-income Montana families.
