Big Sky 55+ announced Thursday it will hold a membership event and press conference Monday at noon on President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan and how it will deliver relief to Montana communities.

The event will feature local government perspectives from Kalispell City Councilman Kyle Waterman, state government perspectives from Billings member of the House Appropriations Committee Rep. Emma Kerr-Carpenter. To round out the, Jackie Semmens from the Montana Budget and Policy Center will cover other important parts of the package.

Big Sky 55+ Program Director Jacob Bachmeier said Biden’s plan is the best alternative put forth this year.

“Montanans 55 and older need a strong voice to bring their priorities to the forefront of the political arena,” he said. “If you do a side-by-side comparison of the two plans put forth, you will see that the American Rescue Plan invests in Montana families, small businesses, cities and towns while the other plan does very little to help.”

To RSVP for the event, people can send an email to jbachmeier@bigsky55.org.
