Montana Budget & Policy Center is Montana’s partner in the KIDS COUNT network, a project of the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Through our work with the KIDS COUNT network, Montana Budget & Policy Center is dedicated to providing current, relevant, and reliable data to shape the issues affecting Montana children and families.
The KIDS COUNT Data Center is a one-stop source for child well-being data and statistics. We work with state agencies and other public data sources like the Census to compile additional data at the local level that is relevant for issues in Montana. We collect this local data and update the Data Center throughout the year to provide users with the most recent data available for children and families.

The KIDS COUNT Data Book is an annual publication by the Annie E. Casey Foundation that assesses child well-being nationally and across the 50 states, as well as in the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Using an index of 16 indicators, the report ranks states on overall child well-being and in economic well-being, education, health and family and community domains.
