Montanans value strong, secure families and communities. Unfortunately, during periods of unemployment, maintaining that security and protecting our quality of life can become a challenge. Unemployment Insurance (UI) is a state and federal partnership designed to strengthen the economy and protect families when these difficult situations arise. Like home or health insurance, UI is a collective investment to protect workers who encounter difficult times. As such, UI helps to protect one of Montana’s greatest assets, our workers, by maintaining the stability of families and the economy during periods of unemployment.
